For You StartUp.com Fans

Here's a great interview with director Jehane Noujaim, Chris Hegedus and former CEO of Govworks.com; Kaleil Isaza Tuzman.

StartUp.com was released in 2001 on the heals of the bursting .COM bubble. The movie wasn't exactly a hit, but received critical acclaim and appealed to certain audiences. StartUp.com succeeds at connecting with entrepreneurs, Wall Street, and the Business World due to its real life portrayal of Kaleil Isaza Tuzman and partners as they launched GovWorks.com.

Unlike many documentaries StartUp.com, Kaleil, his partners (especially Tom) connect with the audience and its hard not to feel the highs and lows these real entrepreneurs experience. The tagline for the movie is, "The Rise and Fall of the American Dream" which is relevant and obvious as the story plays out.

The amazing part about StartUp.com is that the business they are trying to start should have worked. In my opinion GovWorks.com failed due to over funding due unrealistic expectations of growth and profitability by overzealous Venture Capitalists.
